When the plumber refuses to "fold" himself, the brainwashed Peach drops Mario into the castle dungeon. King Olly waits until the Kingdom's heroes, the Mario Brothers, arrive at the castle, intent on keeping Luigi prisoner and converting Mario. He also seals Olivia behind the dungeon wall for not sharing his beliefs on domination. He is then stapled into a small square and hung on a peg in the dungeons and forced to watch as King Olly uses a Stapler to keep brainwash his minions and turn them into his Folded Soldiers, using in place and following his command. What happens next is unknown, but Bowser most likely attacked with a large army of minions to try and kidnap Peach only to be defeated by the Legion of Stationary. On the morning of the Origami Festival, King Olly raids Princess Peach's Castle, planning to turn it into a replica of his castle and folds Peach into his origami servant. Sealing the Origami Craftsman within his basement wall and crafting his younger sister, Olivia, with the Fold of Life to serve alongside him, Olly turns the office stationery into his elite warriors known as the Legion of Stationary and leaves for the Mushroom Kingdom. However, Olly misinterpreted the message on his body as a careless scribble and developed a hatred for the Toads and all those made of flat paper instead of origami. The Origami Craftsman wrote a message on Olly's body, encouraging him to grow into a great king. King Olly was created by the Origami Craftsman to fit an origami castle during the Toads' Origami Festival, granting him life by using the forbidden Fold of Life technique. He wears a purple robe with an orange collar. If the 1,000-Fold Arms are used at the Water Vellumental's rear end, Mario can grab it by the tail, getting an extra attack on top of the rush ability.King Olly is a small pixie-like humanoid with triangular grey arms and legs, black eyes, and blonde hair that covers his left eye. After using Big Wave, the Water Vellumental will be grounded and is not able to attack. After 3 turns, it becomes ready to use a Big Wave attack (or Mega Wave on the second turn it charges up, Giga Wave on the third turn, and Ultimate Wave on the fourth, then back to Big Wave) which can be avoided by using the Earth Vellumental's power. One turn after both the beginning of the battle and after it recovers from being stunned, the Water Vellumental will charge up an attack by inhaling water from the spouts. If Mario has used the Earth Vellumental and the Water Vellumental is on the ground, it cannot attack.
If Mario is on either side of it, is uses Wing Ding. If Mario is behind its tail, it uses Wyvern Whip. If Mario is out of range of Bite, it uses Water Pistol. If is instead on the ground facing Mario, it will use Bite.
If Mario is close enough to the boss and it is flying, it will use Flying Bite. The Water Vellumental's attacks depend on whether or not it is airborne, and where Mario is relative to its position. If the Water Vellumental is flying, Hammer attacks (aside from the Hurlhammer), the 1,000-Fold Arms, and the Earth Vellumental cannot damage it, although a Jump attack will ground it for the following turn, allowing the above attacks to damage it. After the rings have been organized, the Water Vellumental will use Wash Away, which sends the smaller waterspouts to the outer edge of the arena in a straight line along the nearest column, washing away any panels in their path. Mario faces off against the Water Vellumentalīefore Mario starts organizing the rings every turn, the Water Vellumental uses Summon Spouts to draw water from the waterspouts around the arena to create tiny waterspouts.
